Holmvik Brygge

In 1930 Holmvik Brygge was built for producing caviar and dried cod. From the beginning of the sixties Nyksund was depopulated because of restructuring plans of the government. And so the decline of the village started.

In 1997 the restauration of Holmvik Brygge was started and after a while it developed into a unique historical guest-house. For the building we used a lot of old material so that the atmosphere of the old fishing time was kept. In the guest-house we display many historical materials and you can watch everywhere pictures from the old times.

Holmvik Brygge should be a place of relaxation. Our guest-house has two floors. On the overnight floor you will find comfortable rooms whereas every room is different. We could also restore six original beds and our nice community washing room is a worth to experience.

On the living floor of Holmvik Brygge you will find a big kitchen, which can be used by all guests, a cozy room with a big fireplace and a large living room with panorama windows directly above the harbor. There our guests can get to know each other, exchange travelling experience and also maybe planning common ventures. Holmvik Brygge has already put together couples and one of them even married in Nyksund. But you will also find many release possibilities.

To Holmvik Bygge belongs the Holmvik Sjøhus. This separate longhouse was built in 2006 and consists of three studio-apartments. The apartments are constructed in a modern way, but we took also care of the Norwegian style. The view to the harbor is balsam for the soul and also a pleasure by rainy weather.
